This piece is written by Hazel Sealeaf, the person who planned and ran Disability Justice Labs in October 2022 - January 2023.

What was it?
MAIA ran 4 workshops with disabled artists, called The Disability Justice Labs.
The workshops tried to answer - "What can disability justice teach us about the pathways to collective liberation?"
Disability Justice is an idea and a social movement of disabled people
Who are trying to make the world a better place for everyone,
By thinking deeply about how society hurts disabled people,
What needs to change for us to live truly free lives,
And then doing those things together.
By asking "What can disability justice teach us about the pathways to collective liberation?",
